UNION 751 Journeyman Carpenter Structural Foreman

Thompson Builders, Arcata, CA

January 2018 to December 2021
(Recruited) as Lead Structural Foreman First on site at mobilization 3rd in command to build a 20- million-dollar commercial retrofitting of Humboldt State University in California. Lead and supervised all areas of earthquake retrofit including structural steel, rebar footings, concrete walls, steel stud framing, custom fabricating, drywall. Finish carpentry of Doors, windows, cabinets, and intricate Trespa installation. Maintained a safe construction site, held safety meetings, while executing deadlines, budget, take offs, RFI’s and engineered plan changes. Hands on concrete experience include structural concrete, giant rebar cages, backfilled, slab, concrete columns, sidewalks, and ramps.

Focus was on speed, accuracy, and safety to complete homes within the designated time frame and budget. Scheduled 10 crews on 20 houses at a time, performed the layouts, ordered lumber packages, quality assurance of the crews, scheduled inspections. Led and mentored Forman's/crew. Minor hands on concrete work include steps, repairs, and framing.

Performed all phases of construction on a 10-million-dollar Ocean-Front custom home from ground up including concrete block retaining wall, slab, pool, framing, extensive glass work, rough and detailed wood working in the interior framing.
